Terms of Service

The rules for using Kanonas accounts, API keys, provider keys, prepaid credits, model routing, traces, and the web portal.

Effective June 30, 2026Last updated June 30, 2026

This page is written for the Kanonas web portal and API gateway. It explains how the service handles accounts, provider keys, model requests, usage telemetry, traces, and billing.

Agreement

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Kanonas, including the website, web portal, documentation, API gateway, billing flows, and related services.

By using Kanonas, creating an account, saving provider keys, creating Kanonas API keys, adding prepaid credits, or sending API requests, you agree to these Terms.

Accounts And Access

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account, Firebase sign-in, provider keys, Kanonas API keys, and any credentials you use with the service.

You are responsible for all activity under your account and API keys. Tell Kanonas promptly if you believe your account, provider key, or Kanonas API key has been compromised.

  • Use accurate account information.
  • Keep Kanonas API keys server-side or otherwise protected.
  • Revoke keys you no longer use or suspect may be exposed.
  • Do not access another user's account, traces, billing data, provider keys, or API keys.

Gateway Service

Kanonas provides offline eval automation and heuristic model routing across OpenAI-compatible, xAI, Anthropic-compatible, Gemini-compatible, Z.AI, and related model API requests.

You are responsible for the prompts, inputs, outputs, files, metadata, trace IDs, labels, feedback, and other content you send through or store in Kanonas. You must have the rights and permissions needed to use that content with Kanonas and with any upstream model provider.

You authorize Kanonas to process, transmit, store, display, analyze, and use your content and metadata as needed to provide the service, including routing requests to upstream providers, recording usage, showing traces, calculating balances, securing the system, debugging issues, evaluating model and routing quality, improving Kanonas, and developing new product capabilities.

Provider Keys And Third Parties

If you save upstream provider keys, you represent that you have authority to use those provider accounts and keys. Upstream providers may apply their own terms, policies, usage limits, billing rules, content rules, and data practices.

Kanonas is not responsible for upstream provider availability, model behavior, output quality, rate limits, pricing changes, policy enforcement, or provider-side billing. Kanonas may change supported providers, models, endpoints, and routing behavior over time.

Billing And Prepaid Credits

Kanonas may support saved provider-key funding, managed billing through prepaid credits, or both. In auto funding mode, Kanonas follows your per-provider billing preference toggle. Existing accounts default to saved provider keys first and fall back to managed billing when no matching provider key is saved and credits are funded.

Prepaid credit checkout may include a platform fee shown before payment. The platform fee does not reduce the amount of prepaid credits added to your account.

Prepaid credits are used to fund eligible upstream model calls and related gateway usage. Usage, token counts, cache usage, and estimated spend depend on provider responses and may be approximate or delayed.

Except where required by law or expressly stated in writing, prepaid credits, top-ups, and fees are non-refundable. You are responsible for taxes, provider-side charges, and any charges caused by your account or API keys.

Acceptable Use

You may not use Kanonas to break the law, violate third-party rights, attack systems, bypass rate limits, probe or disrupt the service, distribute malware, harvest credentials, overload infrastructure, or conceal abusive traffic.

You may not resell, sublicense, or provide managed access to Kanonas in a way that violates these Terms, upstream provider terms, or applicable law. You may not reverse engineer non-public service components or use the service to develop competing abuse, scraping, or credential-harvesting systems.

Availability And Changes

Kanonas is provided as an evolving service. Features, endpoints, providers, models, pricing, telemetry, storage behavior, and limits may change. Kanonas may suspend or limit access to protect the service, comply with law, address security risks, or respond to suspected abuse.

Kanonas may provide documentation, examples, SDK snippets, model names, pricing estimates, or operational guidance. These materials are provided for convenience and may become incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate.

Privacy And Data

The Kanonas Privacy Policy explains how Kanonas collects, uses, shares, and retains information. By using Kanonas, you also agree to the processing described in the Privacy Policy.

Kanonas does not offer a zero-data-retention mode or a no-product-improvement-use mode. You agree that Kanonas may retain and use prompts, inputs, outputs, traces, feedback, labels, routing decisions, usage data, billing metadata, audit events, and operational metadata to operate, secure, support, evaluate, and improve the service, subject to the Privacy Policy.

Deleting a provider key, Kanonas API key, project, trace view, or account access path may disable future use, but it does not require Kanonas to delete historical records retained for billing, security, abuse prevention, debugging, product improvement, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or enforcement.

Indemnity

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify, and hold Kanonas harmless from claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses arising from your content, your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, your violation of law, or your violation of third-party rights or upstream provider terms.

Disclaimers

Kanonas is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kanonas disclaims all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, security, and uninterrupted operation.

You are responsible for evaluating model outputs before relying on them. Kanonas does not guarantee that model outputs will be accurate, safe, lawful, complete, unique, or suitable for your use case.

Limitation Of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kanonas will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, business interruption, provider charges, or loss of goodwill.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kanonas' total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amounts you paid to Kanonas for the service in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Termination

You may stop using Kanonas at any time. Kanonas may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create security or legal risk, fail to pay amounts owed, or use the service in a way that may harm Kanonas, users, providers, or third parties.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including payment obligations, ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnity, and terms relating to data retained for legal, security, billing, or operational reasons.

Changes To These Terms

Kanonas may update these Terms from time to time. When updates are made, the revised Terms will be posted on this page with an updated effective or last updated date. Continued use of Kanonas after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
